What are the Top Medical Schools?

Following are some of the top ranked medical schools in the United States:

Harvard Medical School - It is ranked 1st among the best research medical schools by U.S. News and World Report.

Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) - In 2011, OHSU was ranked 1st among Portland metro-area hospitals, according to U.S. News first-ever Best Hospitals metro area rankings.

John Hopkins University - Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine has retained its top-tier ranking in U.S. News 2012 edition on the best graduate schools in the nation. It is ranked 3rd among U.S. medical schools.

Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis - It is ranked No. 3 among research-oriented medical schools (USNWR 2010 “America's Best Graduate Schools”). The School of Medicine's internal medicine program ranked No. 6, moving up from No. 8 in 2008, and the pediatrics program tied at No. 8. The medical school has ranked No. 1 in student selectivity for 11 consecutive years.

Duke University School of Medicine - In 2011, U.S.News ranked the Duke University School of Medicine 5th in the United States. Duke's doctor of physical therapy program was ranked 13th in the nation in 2008.

University of New Mexico School of Medicine - The UNM School of Medicine is ranked 2nd in the nation for its Rural Medicine program in the 2011 issue of USNWR "America's Best Graduate Schools". The magazine also ranks the School of Medicine's Family Medicine curriculum 10th in the nation and Primary Care curriculum 33rd.
