Australian Top Economics Departments

The University of Melbourne’s Department of Economics was ranked as the best department in a new study of economics departments in Australian and New Zealand universities. The Department of Economics teaches a range of programs including Bachelor of Commerce, Honours degrees, Graduate degrees and Research degrees (PhD).

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) was rated highly in business and economics and the Australian School of Business (ASB) was ranked top among all Business Faculties. The School has been consistently ranked Number One among all major Australian institutions in the quality of its teaching in Economics. ASB offers the following programs: Bachelor of Economics (B.Ec), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Honours degrees, Master of Economics, Master of Commerce (with 15 specialisations), Master of Philosophy, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics.

Australian National University (ANU) College of Business and Economics has outstanding performance  in the fields of Accounting, Economics, Econometrics and Statistics. ANU Economics is ranked No. 1 in Australia and one of only two Australian universities in the International Top 100, according to the Rankings of Academic Journals and Institutions in Economics. Monash University was ranked top in Australia for Econometrics. According to the econphdnet.net rankings of Econometrics programs, Monash came 1st in the nation and top 50 in the world, followed by ANU (2nd nationally and 56th globally) and UNSW (3rd nationally and 58th globally). The Department of Economics offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs on-campus, of-campus nationally through distance education and offshore in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Africa.
