Lawrence University and Beloit College are the Top 2 liberal arts colleges in the state of Wisconsin and they are ranked as Tier 1 schools by the US News & World Report.

Lawrence is placed 1st in the state and 56th nationally. According to a report on America's top colleges by Forbes.com, Lawrence is the top-ranked undergraduate institution in Wisconsin and 68th best in the country.
