CSU Monterey Bay Ranking Profile

Founded in 1994, California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB or CSU Monterey Bay) is a small public university located in the cities of Seaside and Marina, California, on the Monterey Peninsula. It is the 21st campus in the California State University system. The university is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and College (WASC).

- Placed in Tier 4 among Liberal Arts Colleges in the nation (US News & World Report America Best Colleges 2010).

- CSUMB's service learning program is listed among the top programs in the country and is one of only nine public schools included in the ranking. It's the sixth straight year the university has been honored in this category. Among liberal arts colleges, it is ranked 18th in the category of "least debt" with the average student carrying a debt load of $15,305 (2010 edition of USNWR America's Best Colleges).

- The U.S. News & World Report rankings placed CSUMB 1st for ethnic diversity and 2nd for economic diversity among public liberal arts universities.

- In 2005, Intel Corporation ranked the university at 12th place among the nation’s top 50 campuses for wireless Internet accessibility.

- Named a 2005 Publisher’s Pick by The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education.
