Boston Architectural College Profile

Founded in 1889, Boston Architectural College (BAC) is an independent professional college offering bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and design studies. It was formerly known as the Boston Architectural Center.

The College also offers educational programs online. It offers the first online, low residency, NAAB-accredited professional Masters of Architecture program in the USA. In addition it offers a Sustainable Design Certificate completely online.

Boston Architectural College is accredited by the, New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) to grant the B.Arch, M.Arch, BID, and MID degrees.  The B.Arch program has been accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) since 1971. The M.Arch program has been accredited by NAAB since 2002. The BID and MID have been accredited by the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research (FIDER) since 2002.

The Massachusetts Higher Education Coordinating Council approved degree-granting authority for the BAC's Bachelor of Interior Design in 1993 and the Master of Interior Design in 1997.

The BAC BLA degree was approved by the Massachusetts State Board of Higher Education in September 2005, and the program received Candidacy Status in March 2006 from the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB).

Ranking Profile:

- The BAC Bachelor of Architecture is listed in the top 20 ranked programs, at 17th in the 2010 DesignIntelligence Rankings. BAC's Interior Design Programs have been recognized as a "Hidden Gem", a unique category that recognizes unranked programs.

- Rated 9th among the Top 10 Undergraduate Architecture programs by DesignIntelligence 2009.
