Indiana University Southeast is a public comprehensive university and a regional campus in the Indiana University system.

Indiana University Southeast is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is also accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Indiana Office of Educator Licensing and Development.

- IU Southeast's MBA program ranked 9th in the nation according to the BusinessWeek magazine Part-Time MBA Program Rankings 2009. It was the 3rd highest ranked school in the Midwest and was the only school in Indiana or the Greater Louisville area to achieve a top-10 national ranking from BusinessWeek. In addition, it is ranked 2nd in the nation for post-MBA outcomes, 20th in the nation in student satisfaction, and 3rd in the nation for small classes. The Part-Time MBA program also received the highest possible score of "A +" for teaching quality and an "A" for curriculum.

- The IU Southeast School of Business has achieved a top five ranking from The Princeton Review. It was ranked 5th nationally in Best Classroom Experience and was named one of the top business schools in the country, according to the 2009 Princeton Review guide Best 296 Business Schools.

- The IU Southeast School of Business has been ranked in the top 30 part-time MBA programs in the country by BusinessWeek magazine (2007). The MBA program is placed 18th in the nation, and 3rd in the Midwest region. In addition it was rated 6th in the nation for student satisfaction, named a school “Best for Career Switchers,” and received A+ rankings for teaching quality and for curriculum.
