Top-up Degree in Journalism

The following UK universities and colleges offer the top-up degree programmes in journalism:

Teesside University - It offers the BA (Hons) Journalism and News Practice (Top-up Award) that aims to develop a high level of professional competence in media practice, including journalistic writing, investigative journalism, professional ethics and techniques in professional news production. Candidates are assessed in a variety of ways including written journalism, deadline news stories, essays, presentations and reflective evaluations.

The University of Northampton - It offers the BA (Hons) Journalism (top-up) degree programme. Applicants need to have an HND or a Foundation Degree in an appropriate subject. Assessments involve the compilation of practical portfolios, essays, reports on seminars, oral presentations, practical projects and placements as well as written examinations.

The London College of Communication (University of the Arts London) - It offers the BA (Hons) Sports Journalism (top up) programme which can be completed in one year full time studies. Students should have completed the LCC bridging course which prepares applicants for entry to this BA 'top up' year. LCC is a world leader in delivering industry-orientated media and design courses.
