Top Universities in Brunei Darussalam

University of Brunei Darussalam is the best ranked university in Brunei, ranked 4394th globally in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (July 2011). Established in 1985, it is the oldest university in the country. It is also the largest university in Brunei in terms of student enrollment and curriculum offered.

University of Brunei Darussalam has the following faculties: Arts and Social Sciences, Business, Economics and Policies Studies, Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Institute of Islamic Studies, Science, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Academy of Brunei Studies and Institute of Medicine. The Institute of Medicine, Universiti Brunei Darussalam was inaugurated in September 2000, with the vision of being one of the Top-Ranking Health Sciences' Institution in Asia.

University Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) is Brunei's second university, founded in 2007 as an Islamic university. The University offers three languages as a medium of instructions: Arabic, Malay and English. UNISSA has the following faculties: Faculty of Usuluddin; Faculty of Shariah and Law; Faculty of Arabic Language & Islamic Civilization; Faculty of Business and Management Sciences.

Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB) is one of the main fully-fledged public universities in Brunei Darussalam and is a 'Brunei University of Engineering, Business and Computing'. It is also one of the Member Institutions of the ASEAN University Network for the South East Asia Engineering Education Development Network (AUNSEED/Net) and is actively involved and participated in some of its programmes and activities.
