According to the Ranking Web of World Universities, University of Cape Town (UCT) is the highest ranked institution in Africa (ranked 324th globally in July 2011). In the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2011, University of Cape Town is ranked 201-300th internationally, University of the Witwatersrand ranked 301-400th internationally, and University of KwaZulu-Natal ranked 401-500th internationally.
