Universities in Antigua and Barbuda

American University of Antigua and the University of Health Sciences Antigua are the two major universities in Antigua and Barbuda.

American University of Antigua (AUA) was founded in 2004. It is ranked 4270th globally in the 4icu.org university web ranking 2011. AUA College of Medicine has been approved by New York State Department of Education and recognized by the Medical Board of California, allowing students to obtain residency positions and secure clinical clerkships in those states. The College of Medicine graduates are eligible for: ECFMG Certification; National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Placement; and Medical licensure in the U.S., Canada and Antigua.

AUA College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) is the only two-year Caribbean veterinary program that offers individuals the opportunity to earn a DVM from an AVMA-accredited institution.

The University of Health Sciences Antigua (UHSA) is a private medical school located in Dowhill near Falmouth, Antigua, in the Caribbean. Since 1982 the University has been providing outstanding medical education to students from all over the world. The Doctor of Medicine program at UHSA is a four-year medical program that consists of Basic Sciences studies and Clinical Pathways leading to the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.
