MSU in Top Rankings

Michigan State University (MSU) is one of the top research universities in the world. It has three on-campus medical schools, graduating allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO) physicians, as well as veterinarians.

The University is a member of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, American Council on Education, American Council of Learned Societies, Association of American Universities, Association of Graduate Schools, Council of Graduate Schools, Committee on Institutional Cooperation, and International Association of Universities. The U.S. Department of Energy has selected MSU to design and establish the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams, also known as FRIB.

- MSU's undergraduate supply chain program is ranked 2nd in the nation. Other top-ranked undergraduate programs include: accounting and production/operations management, both ranked 12th, and international business, ranked 20th (USNWR 2011 editions of America's Best Colleges).

- MSU has been recognized for eight consecutive years as one of the top 100 universities in the world by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in its Academic Ranking of World Universities (2010).

- MSU is 14th among the top places to work in academia, according to a 2010 survey by The Scientist magazine.

- For the 2009-2010 academic year, MSU is among the institutions with the highest number of faculty to receive Fulbright U.S. Scholar awards.

- MSU was recognized in the Princeton Review's Guide to 286 Green Colleges for demonstrating "an exemplary commitment to sustainability".

- MSU leads the nation in study abroad participation among public universities, according to Open Doors 2009, the Institute of International Education's annual report on international education. With 4,757 international students, MSU is ranked 6th in the nation among public universities and 10th among private and public schools.

- Of the 141 medical schools in an Annals of Internal Medicine study, MSU's College of Human Medicine is ranked 6th overall for social mission.
