World University Rankings 2013/2014

According to the QS World University Rankings 2013/2014, Massachusetts Institute of Technology was ranked No. 1 in the world, followed by Harvard University (No. 2) and the University of Cambridge (No. 3).

University College London (UCL) has retained 4th place in the QS University Rankings 2013/2014, making it one of the four UK universities in the top 10 and the 2nd ranked UK institution after the University of Cambridge.

Imperial College London was ranked 5th in the world and ahead of the University of Oxford (rated 6th). In Scotland, the highest ranked institution is the University of Edinburgh. It was placed 17th in the world, a rise of four places compared to the previous year and Edinburgh's highest-ever ranking.

In Canada, the University of Toronto was rated top in the country and among the world's top 20 institutions. It was tied for 17th with the University of Edinburgh, up from 19th a year earlier.
