University of Warwick in RAE Ranking Performance

The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) results confirm that The University of Warwick is one of the top leading research universities in the UK, ranked at 7th overall in the UK (based on multi-faculty institutions).

RAE 2008 Ranking Performance:

- 1st for Film Studies, and Warwick HRI.

- 2nd for History, Mathematics (Pure), and French.

- 3rd for Economics and Italian.

- 4th for Classics and Statistics.

- 5th for Theatre, Performance and Cultural Policy Studies and Warwick Business School.

- 7th for Politics and Mathematics (Applied).

- 8th for Chemistry, English, Sociology, and Education.

- 10th for Engineering and Warwick Medical School (Health Services Research).

* Warwick Economics is in the top five British departments of economics for research quality, tied third equal with Essex and Oxford.

* Warwick Pure Mathematics is ranked 2nd in the UK. Applied Mathematics ranked equal first in the UK for the proportion of its research given the top 4* “world-leading” rating, and 7th in the UK when ranked according to GPA.
