Singapore Scholarship for Undergraduate Study

The Singapore Scholarship is awarded by the Singapore Government to Government-endorsed students from other member countries of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). This Scholarship is for those who want to undertake a full-time undergraduate degree course (except for medicine and dentistry) at the following institutions:
  • Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
  • National University of Singapore (NUS)
  • Singapore Management University (SMU)
Duration of Scholarships: 3 to 4 years, depending on the discipline.

The Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit. For more information on the courses offered by NTU, NUS and SMU, please visit their websites.

Bridging or foundation courses will be provided to certain Scholars as deemed necessary by the universities. And, this one-year bridging programme will be in addition to the undergraduate studies.

This is a Government-to-Government scheme without any bond imposed by the Singapore Government. Citizens of ASEAN member countries (except Singapore) are eligible to apply for the Singapore Scholarship. In addition the applicants are expected to have good command of English and possess outstanding academic record. The recipients of the Singapore Scholarship are expected to return home to contribute to the development of their countries upon graduation.

The scholarship will cover tuition fees and a living allowance of S$4,200 per annum. In addition, an accommodation allowance based on the different room rates at each university will be provided.
