Kingston University Rankings & Ratings
Kingston University is a top new university in London, according to the Guardian university league tables (May 2006). It was founded in 1899 as Kingston Technical Institute and gained university status in 1992.
The university has seven faculties:
- The School of Education is rated 2nd nationally among the top education departments in the Guardian University League Table 2010 (moving up from 4th in 2009).
- In the Times Subject League Table (May 2005), it is placed in the Top 20 for the following subjects:
- 73rd in the Guardian University Guide 2010.
- 65th nationally in the Financial Times University Ranking 2003.
- 63rd for computer science and informatics in the RAE 2008.
- 93rd in The Times Good University Guide 2009.
