Northern Arizona University Rankings

Founded in 1899, Northern Arizona University (NAU) is a leading public university located in the state of Arizona, ranked as one of the Top 100 best public colleges in the United States. It is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The university has six colleges:
- College of Arts and Letters
- College of Education
- College of Engineering, Forestry, and Natural Sciences
- College of Health and Human Services
- College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
- The W.A. Franke College of Business (accredited by AACSB International)

The School of Hotel and Restaurant Management has gained accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Hospitality Administration. The B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering degree is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

- Northern Arizona University’s master’s in business administration is listed among the most outstanding business programs in the nation in the Princeton Review’s 2010 edition of its book, The Best 301 Business Schools.

- The College of Business Administration is placed in the Top 10 nationally in the Princeton Review's Best Business Schools Rankings - Greatest Opportunity for Minority Student.

- 78th on the list of Top 100 Best Public Colleges and 64th on Forbes list of America’s Best College Buys.

- Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine named NAU as one of the nation’s best values in public colleges and the best value in the state.

- 25th in the nation for graduates with the lightest debt load (U.S. News & World Report - The report analyzed data from the class of 2008).

- Northern Arizona University's MBA program is ranked in the Top 10 for three categories in The 2008 Princeton Review:
   - 4th for Best Professors
   - 9th for Best Campus Facilities
   - 10th for Greatest Opportunity for Minority Students

- 29th for Physical Therapy program (U.S. News & World Report 2009 Edition).

- The School of Hotel and Restaurant Management is ranked No. 9 in the world for its faculty publishing record in refereed hospitality and tourism journals.

- Northern Arizona University has been placed among the top 25 for medium-size schools producing Peace Corp volunteers, ranked 18th in the annual list of Peace Corps' "Top Peace Corps Volunteer Producing Colleges and Universities".

- Its engineering programs are tied for 38th in the country (out of nearly 200 schools) according to the U.S. News and World Report's rankings released in August 2008.

- Awarded the prestigious Outstanding Educator award by the Boeing Co. in 1999.
