- In 2008 the graduate programs in nursing was placed 2nd in the nation (USNWR). It was placed in the top 10 in all seven nursing specialties, including 1st for training adult/medical-surgical nurses, 2nd for adult nurse practitioner, family nurse practitioner, and psychiatric/mental health programs. The pediatric nurse practitioner specialty ranked 5th nationally, while the gerontology/geriatrics and nursing service administration programs ranked 7th.
- The School of Pharmacy ranked top in the US, according to a 2002 survey published in The Annals of Pharmacotherapy.
- It was the third largest recipient of National Institutes of Health research support in 2007, according to new figures released by NIH. The UCSF School of Dentistry, School of Nursing, and School of Pharmacy all ranked first nationally in total NIH dollars in 2007.
