The University of La Verne (ULV) is a private doctoral research university located in the U.S. state of California. It was founded in 1891 as Lordsburg College by members of the Church of the Brethren.

It has the following Colleges:
- College of Arts & Sciences
- College of Business & Public Management
- College of Education and Organizational Leadership
- College of Law
- Regional Campuses (offer accredited degree and credential programs through classes at regional campuses and online)

The American Bar Association (ABA) granted provisional approval to the College of Law in 2006, making it the only ABA-approved law school in Inland Southern California. The Legal Studies Program is ABA approved. The University maintains memberships in many organizations, some of them are the American Council on Education, the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities, the Western College Association, AACSB International.

La Verne Online offers a number of online programs, including the On-line MBA for Experienced Professionals (students may choose to concentrate in Management & Leadership).

Rankings:

- Placed in the Tier 3 among the Best National Universities (US News & World Report Best Colleges 2010).

- Forbes Magazine ranked the University at 18th position among California colleges and universities and 206th overall in its recently released “America’s Best Colleges 2009”.

- The University of La Verne is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

- The Masters of Public Administration degree is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).

- The Doctor of Psychology Program is accredited by the American Psychological Association.

-  The Athletic Training Education Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
