Auburn University in Top Rankings

Auburn University (AU) is a top public research university located in the U.S. state of Alabama, offering a wide range of nationally competitive programs at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels. It is one of the largest universities in the South.

The university was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College. It is the oldest four-year, coeducational school in the state and the second-oldest in the Southeast.

Auburn University is one of the top five universities nationally for producing NASA scientists and astronauts. It has been placed within the top 50 public universities in the country for providing a quality education with educational value by the US News & World Report.

- The Department of Marketing is ranked 5th internationally in terms of advertising research productivity for the period 1997-2006, Journal of Advertising, Fall 2008.

- The Interior Design program is ranked 4th by DesignIntelligence magazine, 2008.
