University of Bridgeport (UB) is a doctoral intensive comprehensive university located in Connecticut, USA. It was founded in 1927 as the Junior College of Connecticut.
The University houses academic programs within the following schools, colleges, and institutes: School of Arts and Sciences; School of Business; College of Chiropractic; School of Education and Human Resources; School of Engineering; Fones School of Dental Hygiene; The International College; College of Naturopathic Medicine; School of Continuing and Professional Studies; Nutrition Institute;Acupuncture Institute; English Language Institute. GRE is not required for admission into some of its Master’s level programs such as the Master's of Science in Computer Science (M.S.), Computer Engineering (M.S.), etc.
The University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies and its Office of Distance Learning pioneered the first online graduate degree program in the State of Connecticut.
The University of Bridgeport is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. It is also accredited by the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Department of Higher Education. All professional and teacher-training programs in Education have received accreditation from the Connecticut State Department of Education.
The School of Business is internationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) to offer specified graduate and undergraduate business degrees. The College of Naturopathic Medicine is accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME). In addition the University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
