US News Best Colleges 2011
Harvard University is ranked No. 1 among the best national universities in the US News and World Report's Best Colleges 2011 list, with Princeton University in 2nd place and Yale University in 3rd place nationally.
University of Southern California is ranked 23rd on the Best National Universities list, up from 26th last year, in the 2011 edition of America's Best Colleges. USC was ranked 11th among up-and-coming universities, 22nd in a list of top schools chosen by high school guidance counselors, and 39th on the list of schools offering the best value for the money. It was also highlighted as one of the universities with the strongest economic diversity and in a list of schools with outstanding internship programs.
The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa is ranked among the top-tier “Best National Universities” in the 2011 edition of “Best Colleges”. It is also ranked among the top U.S. universities as an “A-Plus School for B Students”—which “truly seek a broad, engaged student body” and “where non-superstars have a decent shot at being accepted and thriving”. Out of 262 national universities, UH’s flagship campus at Mānoa is rated 159th and is tied with Texas Tech University and five other institutions.
Western Michigan University is one of just a handful of Michigan universities included in the U.S. News & World Report's 2011 list of top-tier national universities, ranked 179th among the total group, putting it in a tie for 98th place among the nation's public universities. WMU was first named to the overall "Best National Universities" list in 1991. This is the 20th year WMU has appeared in the magazine's top grouping of "best national universities".
University of Colorado campuses and undergraduate programs remain well-regarded at the regional and national levels among public and private universities. The University of Colorado at Boulder is ranked 39th among the top 50 "Best Public National Universities" and the University of Colorado Denver's downtown campus ranked 106th among the top national public universities.
