Top leading Anthropology schools in the UK:
School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London
- The SOAS Anthropology Department was rated 2nd equal (behind Cambridge) in the Guardian University Guide 2010 based on the 2008 RAE results. It is also rated as the top London Anthropology Department overall.
- The Times Higher Education RAE "Table of Excellence 2008" placed the SOAS Anthropology Department 2nd equal with LSE.
University of Cambridge
- Biological Anthropology at Cambridge is structured into two main streams: Applied Biological Anthropology and Human Evolutionary Studies.
- Biological Anthropology at Cambridge was ranked as one of the top anthropology departments, ranked 2nd base on the percentage of the highest quality outputs (4*), in the Research Assessment Exercise 2008, which attempts to measure UK research quality.
University College London
- In 2001, UCL Anthropology was one of only two departments nationally to achieve the top score of 5*.
- In RAE 2008 85% of our research activity was judged of international quality, and 60% was classified in the top two categories of 4* and 3*.
