Boise State University is Idaho’s metropolitan research university, offering a range of undergraduate, graduate and technical programs.

The University has the following Colleges: College of Arts and Sciences; College of Business & Economics; College of Education; College of Engineering; Graduate College; Honors College; College of Health Sciences; College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs.

The College of Arts and Sciences offers a variety of baccalaureate, masters, and PhD programs in the arts, sciences, and humanities. The Boise State College of Business and Economics Baccalaureate and Graduate Programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

The Nursing Department at Boise State University offers a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Nursing, Online/Distance RN to BS in Nursing Completion Option, Master of Nursing (MN), and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). The Associate and Bachelor of Science programs are accredited by the National League of Nursing and Accreditation Commission (NLNAC).

The School of Social Work offers both undergraduate and graduate education accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The MPA degree offered through the Department of Public Policy and Administration is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).

The College of Engineering is a member of the Global Engineering Education Exchange (Global E3). The undergraduate programs in civil, electrical, materials science and engineering, and mechanical engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The undergraduate program in computer science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of the ABET. The program in construction management is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education.

Boise State University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The online graduate programs in Educational Technology are accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Ranking Profile:

- Boise State University is ranked 51st among the Tier 1 Regional Universities (West) by US News (2011).

- The engineering programs rank 20th in the nation among public universities without Ph.D. programs, according to the US News & World Report “America’s Best Colleges 2005” issue.

- The Executive MBA program has earned high marks in an independent exit survey of its graduates by the international Executive MBA Council. About 96% of the graduates gave the overall program the highest possible rating.
