The best and largest universities in Arizona are the Arizona State University, University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona University.

Arizona State University (ASU) is the largest public research university in the United States. It has been ranked among the top in the nation in student entrepreneurs and one of the top 10 producers of Fulbright Scholars in the U.S. Since 2003, ASU has increased the number of high-level faculty members and experts on campus. The University is ranked 18th in the nation among all colleges and universities according to a report released from the Institute of International Education. It has 3,549 international students enrolled in fall 2009, up from 3,478 in fall 2008.

The University of Arizona is a top public research university in the country, offering a wide variety of academic programs, many of which are among the nation's best. It is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU), one of 62 leading public and private research universities in the United States and Canada. The University has the largest undergraduate only Italian program in the country. The UA is one of the nation’s top producers of Fulbright Scholars.

Northern Arizona University (NAU) is the third-largest public university in th state. In 2008, NAU produced the most Native American engineering graduates in the U.S., according to Diverse Issues in Higher Education. It offers rigorous, high-quality education and training across a vast spectrum of fields. In addition, the university offers a full range of degree programs online and at the satellite campuses around Arizona.
