List of top schools for music business programs:

Belmont University
- Rolling Stone and Time Magazine have both ranked Belmont University as having one of the "top music business schools" in the United States.
- The Music Business major develops knowledge and skills in a variety of areas such as record company operations, music publishing, artist management, marketing, merchandising, public relations, and music production.

University of Georgia (UGA)
- The UGA Music Business Certificate Program was established in January 2006. Every student in the Music Business Program is placed in an internship to gain hands-on, real world experience.
- The Certificate Program is supported with resources contributed from external sources, the Terry College of Business, and the Hodgson School of Music.

New York University
- NYU Steinhardt offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in music business. It is one of the few universities in the country to offer a graduate degree in the music business field.
- Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities such as the Concert Program Board, radio station WNYU and the Music Business Association.

Musicians Institute (MI)
- MI's Music Business Programs provide hands-on training for business careers in the music industry.
- Musicians Institute has been an accredited member institution of the National Association of Schools of Music since 1981 and is licensed to operate in the State of California by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education.
