Indiana University - Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) is Indiana's premier urban university which grant degree programs from both Indiana University and Purdue University.

- In the ranking of part-time MBA programs, the Evening Master of Business Administration program at IUPUI was ranked 10th overall and 4th among public business schools. The legal writing program at the IU School of Law-Indianapolis was ranked 5th best in the nation, moving up from 8th last year (US News 2011).

- IUPUI is among a list of top picks by high school guidance counselors in the 2011 edition of America's Best Colleges rankings compiled by U.S. News (2011). It was tied for 47th among all national universities. IUPUI was also ranked among universities singled out for having a strong focus on student success. IUPUI initiatives noted by the magazine: first-year experience, learning communities, and service learning.

- IUPUI is ranked eighth among the 10 best public colleges in the Midwest in the ranking of America's Best Colleges compiled by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity (CCAP).

- In its first annual ranking of U.S. law schools, Super Lawyers Magazine ranks Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis as 44th in the nation. IU School of Law-Indianapolis is located on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).
