Top Universities in Ireland 2011-2012
Trinity College Dublin is the highest ranked institution in the Republic of Ireland, with an overall rank of 117th internationally in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2011-2012. University College Dublin is the 2nd highest ranked Irish university (159th globally), followed by University College Cork (301-350th globally).
Trinity College Dublin (TCD) is also ranked highly in the QS World University Rankings 2011, with an overall position of 65th internationally. It has also been named amongst the leading universities in the world for Arts & Humanities, featuring in the top 100 for five out of six disciplines.
Trinity's School of Engineering has been ranked in the top 100 internationally by the 2011 QS World University Rankings. It is the only Irish institution to make it into the top 100 for Electrical Engineering. TCD also made the top 100 in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering and in Chemical engineering, while the Civil and Structural Engineering, and Computer Science and Information Systems made it into the top 200.
