Best Values in Private Colleges 2011-2012
Princeton University is ranked No. 1 and ahead of Yale University (ranked No. 2) on the list of private universities that best combine outstanding quality with affordability, according to the Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine (2011-12). Following are some of the top performers in the "2011-2012 Best Value Private College" rankings:
- Rice University is ranked No. 4 on the list of best values in private universities and colleges by Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine. Rice admits students regardless of their ability to pay and provides financial aid packages that meet 100 percent of their demonstrated need.
- George Fox University is ranked No. 80 overall and No. 4 among schools in the 113-member Council for Christian Colleges & Universities in the publication's “Private Universities” category.
- Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is rated 35th among all private colleges nationwide for providing high quality academics and great cost value.
- Clark University is rated No. 28 on the list. It has consistently appeared on Kiplinger's “Best Values” list, which is selected from a pool of private institutions provided by Peterson's, an education content provider and publisher. Clark also appeared among the top 50 schools named by U.S. News in the “Great Schools, Great Prices” category of its 2012 edition of “America's Best Colleges”.
- John Carroll University is ranked among the Top 100 Best Values in Private Colleges for 2011-12. One of only six Ohio schools in the “private school” category, John Carroll ranks 81st in the nation.
