Top Study Abroad Programs

Following are the leading US universities and colleges with top study abroad programs:

Arcadia University - U.S. News & World Report ranks Arcadia University among the top regional universities in the North and as one of the top study abroad programs. In addition, the Institute of International Education (IIE) ranked Arcadia University among the top 10 universities in the United States for the percentage of undergraduate students studying abroad in its Open Doors 2011 report.

The University of Texas at Austin - It offers one of the largest and most active study abroad programs in the nation, and all undergraduates are encouraged to participate in a study abroad program during their time at the university. There are different types of study abroad programs such as: UT Austin faculty-led programs, UT Austin exchanges, programs affiliated with UT Austin, independent study and research, and non-UT Austin programs.

The Ohio State University - OSU is ranked among the top 10 nationally for its international student enrollment and in the top 20 for the number of students studying abroad, according to the Open Doors report. It is ranked 7th among the nation's colleges and universities for hosting 6,082 international students in 2010, and 18th nationally with 1,945 students studying abroad in 2009-2010. The most popular destinations for Ohio State students to study abroad include the United Kingdom, Canada, China, Italy and Germany. Nationally, the leading destinations for studying abroad are the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France and China.

San Diego State University - SDSU is home to top-ranking programs in psychology, biology, geography, social work, public administration and many other fields of study. The undergraduate International Business Program is rated the nation's top study abroad program by the Institute for International Education.

Stonehill College - It is highly regarded as one of the top schools for semester abroad programs. The Open Doors Survey, which covered the 2006-07 academic year, showed that Stonehill had the highest number of students (230) in Massachusetts spending a semester abroad.
