Tulane University is the highest ranked National University in the state, placed 51st nationally in the US News & World Report rankings 2009, followed by Louisiana State University--Baton Rouge (130th nationally).

Tulane University is a private nonsectarian research university in the US. It is placed 15th in The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine ranking of top 25 graduate entrepreneurship programs in the nation.
