UK Universities by Reputation
The University of Cambridge is the most reputable university in the UK and the only UK institution ranked in the top five, placing 3rd in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2012.
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has moved up eight spots in the second annual rankings of global universities based on their reputation among senior academics, ranking 29th in the world and 5th in the UK. LSE's ranking in this table is higher than in the annual Times Higher Education World University Rankings, which rated LSE 47th in the world for 2011-12.
The University of Oxford is ranked 2nd in the UK and 6th globally in the league table. A total of five UK institutions placed in the top 30. The others are Imperial College London (13th), and University College London (21st).
The University of Edinburgh in Scotland is ranked in the global top 50 (at 49th) in the reputational survey. In addition, the University is ranked 36th in the world in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2011-2012.
