QS Asian University Rankings 2013

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is the highest ranked university in Asia, according to the QS Asian University Rankings 2013, followed by National University of Singapore (NUS) and the University of Hong Kong (both tied for the 2nd place regionally).

NUS was also ranked 1st in employer reputation and 2nd in academic reputation in Asia. In terms of citations per paper, NUS climbed to 2nd place from last year's 5th position. NUS remained among the top 5 universities in Asia across all disciplines measured, with improved performance in the fields of Engineering & Technology, and Life Sciences & Medicine.

Seoul National University (SNU) was ranked 4th in the QS University Rankings: Asia 2013, ahead of Peking University (ranked 5th) and University of Tokyo (ranked 9th). Four other universities in Korea also ranked among the top 20 Asian Universities: KAIST (6th), POSTECH (7th), Yonsei University (16th), and Korea University (19th).

Peking University was ranked in the top 5 universities in the whole of Asia, and the top in mainland China in the 2013 QS Asia University Ranking. According to the survey, 48 universities of mainland China ranked into top 200. Among the listed agricultural or forestry universities, only China Agricultural University and Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) are included. NAU was ranked 198th in Asia and 48th in the mainland of China.
