Complete University Guide 2015

The Complete University Guide 2015 ranked Cambridge No. 1 among the top universities in the UK, ahead of Oxford (2nd) and London School of Economics (3rd).

Durham University was ranked as the country’s fifth best university overall for the fourth year running. In addition, Durham is second only to Cambridge in the total number of courses it offers which are ranked the leading course in the subject in the UK.

The University of East Anglia gained five places from last year’s ranking of 20th to 15th, and has once again made the highest advancement of all the region’s universities. In addition, UEA was ranked 6th for Social Work, American Studies, Communication and Media Studies, Pharmacology & Pharmacy; 7th for Nursing; 8th for History of Art, Architecture & Design; 9th for Aural & Oral Sciences (RSC); and 10th for Education.

Newcastle University successfully made it into the top 20 place for the first time in the league table. It moved up two places at 20th position in the table of 123 UK universities for 2015 – its highest ever ranking. In separate tables covering subject areas, Newcastle was placed in the Top 10 for 16 of its 38 subjects, topping the table for Aural and Oral Studies.
