Top Universities in Asia 2014
National University of Singapore (NUS) was ranked No. 1 among the top universities in Asia, followed by KAIST in 2nd place and the University of Hong Kong in 3rd place. NUS has also been rated as Asia’s top three universities across all disciplines measured.
Nanyang Technological University (NTU) jumped 3 places to 7th in the region, its highest-ever position. In addition, NTU scored maximum points in four areas, including employer reputation.
Beijing University is still the top university in Mainland China (ranked 8th), followed by Qinghua University, ranked steadily at 14th.
University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) was ranked 4th in Chinese Mainland and 25th in the 2014 QS Asian University Rankings. Other Chinese Mainland Universities in the top 50 list included: Fudan University (22nd), Nanjing University (26th), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (28th), Zhejiang University (31st) , Beijing Normal University (42nd), Nankai University (50th).
The University of the Philippines (UP) was ranked 63rd in the Asian region, number one among Philippine universities and No. 46 and No. 41, respectively, in Asia in academic reputation and employer reputation. In terms of its faculty, UP’s highest ranking is in Social Sciences and Management where it is No. 33 in Asia and No. 1 in the Philippines.
