Cambridge was ranked 1st out of 126 universities in the UK in The Complete University Guide league table for 2016, followed by Oxford in 2nd place.
The University of Surrey moved up from 12th to 8th in the league table. It was ranked in the top 5 nationally for the following subjects: Food Science (1st), Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation & Tourism (2nd), Nursing (2nd), Drama, Dance & Cinematics (3rd), Materials Technology (3rd), and Sociology (5th).
Lancaster University has risen 2 places to be ranked 9th nationally out of 126 UK universities and is the leading university in the North West according to the Complete University Guide for 2016. The University is ranked highly for graduate prospects with 78% of students going on to graduate level employment or further study. Expenditure on student facilities such as sports, careers services, health and counselling was also ranked highly at Lancaster.
