Best National Universities 2016

Princeton University was ranked 1st among the nation’s top universities in the 2016 Best Colleges guidebook from U.S. News & World Report.

The University of Iowa was ranked 34th among the nation's best public universities, in a tie with the University of California–Santa Cruz and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Overall, it was ranked 82nd in the "Best National Universities" category, which contains 280 U.S. institutions (173 public, 100 private, and seven for-profit.)

Tulane University was ranked 41st among the best national universities (up 13 points) while the undergraduate program of the A. B. Freeman School of Business was ranked No. 43. It was also ranked the 38th best university by high school counselors and No. 33 among best colleges for veterans.

The University of Delaware was ranked 29th among public universities and 75th among all national universities in U.S. News' Best Colleges 2016 edition. Joining UD at 75th are Clark University, the Colorado School of Mines, Indiana University, Bloomington, Michigan State University, Stevens Institute of Technology and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

The University of Cincinnati (UC) was named in the Top Tier of the country's "Best National Universities," placing at 140th in the country. UC is ranked at 71st among top public universities. In addition, UC has numerous programs ranked among the top 100 public universities in the nation.
