U.S. News National University Ranking 2017

Princeton was ranked 1st among national universities by 2017 U.S. News & World Report survey, followed by Harvard, University of Chicago and Yale, Columbia, and Stanford.

The University of Virginia has been rated as the No. 2 public university in the country in the 2017 edition of the U.S. News & World Report rankings, up one spot from No. 3 in 2016. Overall, UVA ranked No. 24 among the 310 public, private and nonprofit “national universities” – institutions that offer a range of undergraduate and graduate majors and receive federal money for research support.

Boston University reached an all-time high in the 2017 U.S. News & World Report National University rankings, moving up 2 notches to tie for No. 39 among national universities and continuing a sustained rise in reputation across the board.

Iowa State University is ranked No. 51 among the top public national universities in U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 “Best Colleges” rankings. It is in a five-way tie with the University of Missouri, Columbia; the University of Nebraska – Lincoln; the University of Oklahoma, Norman; and the University of Utah, Salt Lake City.
