Top Liberal Arts College in Maryland

According to the US News Liberal Arts Rankings, United States Naval Academy is ranked first in the state and 22nd nationally in 2009, followed by St. Mary's College of Maryland (84th nationally), Washington College (94th), and Goucher College (111th).

St. Mary's College of Maryland (SMCM) is named a "best value college" in The Princeton Review 2009 edition. It is is ranked as one of the best liberal arts colleges in the country by US News & World Report, The Princeton Review, and Kiplinger’s.

SMCM is included in Kiplinger Personal Finance magazine’s top 100 “best values in public colleges for the 2008-2009 school year”. It is placed 2nd in Maryland for best value, behind only the University of Maryland, College Park. The college’s 2009 ranking nationally is 32nd for in-state. SMCM has the highest graduation rate for all Maryland public colleges and universities.
