Top Liberal Arts Colleges in Iowa

According to the US News & World Report rankings of Top Liberal Arts Colleges, Grinnell College is the highest ranked school in Iowa, placed 14th nationally in 2009. Cornell College is placed 88th nationally (equal rank with Luther College).

Grinnell is placed 14th overall and rated 5th for "Best Values" in the country by US News & World Report. It is also rated 14th in the Washington Monthly rankings. It has been ranked by The Princeton Review as one of the Top 10 best values in private colleges. Grinnell has been recognized by Newsweek/Kaplan as the "best all-around" in 2004.

Cornell College is one of the best institutions for undergraduate education in the nation, according to The Princeton Review in the 2009 edition of its annual book - The Best 368 Colleges. It was also named to the “Colleges of Distinction” guide for 2008-2009.

Coe College is placed 98th nationally. It is one of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest. Coe is included in The Princeton Review's "368 Best Colleges" and "Peterson's Guide to Selective Colleges". Barron's "300 Best Buys in College Education" ranks Coe as "Very Competitive". It awards the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Music (B.M.), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.), and Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T).
