Leeds among Top Research Universities

The University of Leeds is one of the Top 8 research universities in the UK, ranked No. 8 in the RAE 2008 Ranking by Research Power.

RAE 2008 Outcomes:

- Leeds made submissions in 46 subject units of assessment, one of the highest numbers in the sector.

- 61 % of its research is graded as ‘world-leading’ (4*) or ‘internationally excellent’ (3*).

- joint 14th in the Times Higher Education (THE) league table of research quality.

- The School of Sociology and Social Policy was rated second in the country in terms of research that was considered 'world-leading' (4*).

- The School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is rated Top in the country, with a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.05, and 80% of staff was rated internationally excellent or World leading (3* or 4*).
