Alaska Pacific University (APU) (formerly Alaska Methodist University) is a leading liberal arts college in the state of Alaska (USA). It is the highest ranking master’s level university in Alaska.

The RANA Distance Education Program at Alaska Pacific University allows students to earn a degree via online from anywhere in Alaska. Accreditations and Rankings:

- Ranked 53rd among master’s level universities in the West in the “America’s Best Colleges” by U.S. News & World Report 2008 Edition. Colleges are ranked on 15 indicators of academic excellence including peer assessment, retention, student-to-faculty ratio, faculty resources, financial resources, etc.

- Ranked 47th among master's level universities in the West in the 2007 edition of U.S. News & World Report Guide to America's Best Colleges, moving up from 52nd in 2006. APU is one of 557 universities that were considered in the rankings.

- The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and is authorized as a university by the Commission on Postsecondary Education, State of Alaska.

- The Teacher Preparation Program (TPP) is approved through the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED) and received provisional accreditation from the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
