California Maritime Academy Rankings
The California Maritime Academy (CMA, Cal Maritime, or CSU Maritime) is one of only seven degree-granting maritime academies in the US, recognized by US News & World Report as a Top 5 Baccalaureate College in the west. It is part of the California State University system - the largest senior system of higher education in the nation. The Academy was established as the California Nautical School in 1929. It is the only maritime academy on the west coast.

- Ranked as the 6th best Baccalaureate College on the West Coast (USNWR 2008).
- The undergraduate engineering program was placed among the top 80 nationally (USNWR 2005).
- It was chosen as one of the nation’s top 100 public colleges and universities (rated #61) for Forbes’ 2009 rankings of America’s Best Colleges.

- The Mechanical Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET/EAC).
