Top Universities in England

United Kingdom (UK) of Great Britain is made up of four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. There are many top ranking universities in England such as Oxbridge and LSE, some of which are ranked highly in the international league tables like THES, ARWU, Newsweek, etc.

Oxford and Cambridge are among the top two universities in England, according to the Complete University Guide 2010. Cambridge has been named the Top Universities in the East of England in 2009.

Lancaster University has been ranked in the top ten in the UK and Number One in the North West in the regional rankings, according to the Independent Complete University Guide 2009. The National Student Survey 2007 rates Lancaster as the top ranked university in the North West and the joint top ranked University in the whole North of England.
