UK University League Table 2010

The 2010 Independent Complete University Guide ranks all UK universities based on 9 performance indicators including Student Satisfaction, Research, Entry Standards, Student Staff Ratio, Academic Services Spend, Facilities Spend, Good Honours, Graduate Prospects and Completion data.

A number of institutions has made significant improvement in the ranking.
  • Durham is the Top 5 university now, up a place from the 2009 league table.
  • Edinburgh and Southampton moved into Top 20 this year.
  • Robert Gordon moved up from 61st to Top 50.
  • Heriot-Watt University moved into Top 40 in the UK and Top 4 in Scotland this year, ahead of Strathclyde, Aberdeen and Dundee.
  • Hertfordshire jumped up from 54th to 45th.
  • Liverpool up from 42nd to 34th.
  • Leeds moved into Top 30 (from 32nd).
Universities dropped in the rankings:
  • SOAS dropped from Top 10 to 15th now.
  • Leicester from 12th to 20th.
  • Glasgow from 16th to 26th.
  • Loughborough from 13th to 18th.
  • Essex from 25th to 30th.
