Southern Connecticut State University
Founded in 1893, Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU, or Southern) is one of the state universities in Connecticut (US). It is the third-oldest campus in the Connecticut State University system.
The University is composed of the following academic schools: the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Communication, Information, and Library Science, the School of Business, the School of Education, the School of Extended Learning, the School of Health and Human Services, and the School of Graduate Studies.
The School of Business offers a business major with a concentration in accounting, finance, business economics, management of information systems, international business, management, and marketing leading to the award of Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. In addition, the School of Business offers an MBA degree in business administration.
SCSU is accredited by the Connecticut Board of Governors for Higher Education and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The Master of Library Science (MLS) degree program is accredited by the American Library Association. The online MLS program is licensed and accredited by the Board of Governors, Department of Higher Education, State of Connecticut. The counseling programs are fully accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The Psychology Program is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The School of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
