Family Medicine Rankings
The School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) at University of Wisconsin-Madison is ranked among the top ten nationally in family medicine, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2011 edition of America's Best Graduate Schools. The school’s family medicine program, in the top ten for the past several years, rose to 5th from 6th place in 2010.
UMass Medical School (UMMS) is ranked 9th in primary care education, 47th among top research schools and 20th in family medicine, among the specialty categories. Federal and private research grants and contracts at UMMS increased from about $2 million (in 1977) to more than $240 million (in 2010), making it one of the fastest-growing research institutions in the United Sates.
