Top 10 Universities in UK

The University of York is consistently listed in the top 10 research institutions in the UK, and the top 100 in the world. The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) demonstrated York's strength across the board in research quality - in science, social science and humanities, with York rated 8th overall for the quality of its research, according to The Guardian league table.

The University of Warwick is also regularly placed amongst the top ten universities in the UK:
- Warwick is recognised as part of Britain's Ivy League, the Russell Group.
- The results of the RAE 2008 reiterate Warwick’s position as one of the UK’s leading research universities, ranked 7th overall in the UK (based on multi-faculty institutions).
- 8th in The Sunday Times, September 2009.
- Named Top University in the Midlands for 10 years (The Sunday Times University Guide 2007).
- Rated as one of the top 10 UK universities in the the 2009 table of the World’s top 200 Universities published by the Times Higher Education (THE) magazine (8th October 2009).

Lancaster University has broken into the top 10 universities in the UK for 2011. The University jumped up from 23rd place in 2010 to 10th in the 2011 Times Good University Guide. It is also ranked in the top 10 (8th best) in The Independent’s Complete University Guide 2011. The University also excelled in the individual subject rankings, ranked in the top 10 for: 6th (Accounting and Finance) and 8th (Business Studies). Lancaster is also ranked as one of the UK’s top 10 universities in the Guardian University Guide 2011, moving up to sixth position nationally, with a rise of 10 places 

Loughborough University is ranked in top ten of national league table, 9th in Guardian University Guide 2011. It has also topped the Times Higher Education league for the UK’s Best Student Experience.
