Best Values in Public Colleges

According to the Kiplinger's Personal Finance rankings of the nation's “100 Best Values in Public Colleges”, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill took the top spot in the 2010 league table. There are five Florida public colleges and universities placing in the top 100: University of Florida (#2), New College of Florida (#12), Florida State University (#17), University of Central Florida (#36) and the University of South Florida (#60).

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is the only Tennessee public university to make the top 100, placing 58th overall, moving up six places from last year.

Missouri has three public colleges listed among the 100 Best Values: Truman State at Kirksville (26th), with the University of Missouri-Columbia at 57th and Missouri University of Science and Technology at Rolla at 94th. Illinois had two public colleges on the Top 100 list: The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (45th) and Illinois State University at Normal (89th).
