Looking for Surgical Tech Programs?

Those who aim to become a Surgical Technologist should attend a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited education program. The training programs usually last from nine months to two years to complete, and result in a certificate, diploma or associates degree. Following are some of the top colleges offering accredited surgical tech programs:

Rasmussen College - The surgical technologist program at the Brooklyn Park and St. Cloud Campuses is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Accreditation Review Committee on Education in Surgical Technology.

Niagara County Community College - The Surgical Technology program, a CAAHEP accredited program at NCCC, combines classroom and on-campus lab experience with off-campus clinical experience at area hospitals. The program consists of four full-time semesters. Graduates will find employment opportunities in many aspects of health care.

Sinclair Community College  - Accredited by the CAAHEP, Sinclair’s Associate of Applied Science in surgical technology program provides students with the opportunity to work as a certified surgical technologist. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to take the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Exam administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). 

Colorado Technical University (CTU) - CTU surgical technology program at its Denver campus is officially recognized as CAAHEP accredited. Program graduates will be eligible to take the voluntary CST credentialing examination offered by the NBSTSA.

Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) - The associate degree program in Surgical Technology is accredited by the CAAHEP, and it can be completed in as little as 22 months. Students enrolled in the final semester of the AS degree program are eligible to sit for the CST exam, so that upon graduation from NMC, they are immediately eligible for employment.
