Cardinal Stritch University - The University is ranked No. 1 in the second annual "Safest Colleges" ranking compiled by the news, politics and culture website TheDailyBeast.com. The top five safest colleges are as follows: 1. Cardinal Stritch University 2. New York Institute of Technology-Old Westbury 3. Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus 4. Indiana University-Southeast 5. Farmingdale State College.
The University of Montana - The Daily Beast has named The University of Montana the 23rd safest college in the U.S. on its second annual ranking. To be eligible for the Daily Beast ranking, colleges must have at least 6,000 enrolled students and provide residential facilities. A total of 458 schools across the country met this criteria and were considered for the ranking.
Sam Houston State University - It has been named among America's "safest colleges" by The Daily Beast. On the list of 25, Sam Houston State University was rated 10th, followed by two other Texas universities: Texas A&M (24th) and Texas Woman's University (25th). Of the 25 safest, only five are larger than SHSU in terms of student population.
West Virginia University - WVU has one of the safest college campuses in America, with 24-hour police protection. Reader’s Digest ranked WVU 18th among 135 U.S. colleges and universities for safety. In 1998 WVU was ranked the safest campus in the nation by the National Safety Council. Furthermore, USA Today has named WVU one of the safest schools in the country on multiple occasions.
